Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy Last Updated: August 2025 Introduction: We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect as a U.S.-based parking, camping, and tiny house land leasing platform, how we use it, and when and with whom we share it. By using our platform, you agree to the data practices described in this Policy. (If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.)
- Information We Collect We collect various types of information from users in order to operate our rental and listing services. This includes: Personal Information: When you create an account or use our services, you provide personal details such as your full name, email address, and location (e.g. city or state). We also collect your account credentials (username and password) to secure your account. If you choose to list a property or make a booking, you may provide additional contact details or address information relevant to those transactions. Payment Details: If you make or receive payments through our platform, we use a third-party payment processor (Stripe) to handle your payment information. You may need to provide payment card details or bank information to Stripe; we do not store your full credit card number or bank account details on our servers. We keep transaction records (such as the amount and date of a booking) for accounting purposes. Payment processing is handled via Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy, and we may receive limited information (like a payment confirmation or partial card details) to record the transaction. Identity Verification Data: For trust and safety, we may ask you to verify your identity. This could include collecting information from a government-issued ID (such as your driver’s license or passport) or a selfie photograph for comparison, as permitted by law We only use this data to verify your identity or perform required background checks, and we handle it in accordance with applicable laws. User Activity and Logs: When you use the platform, we automatically collect certain information about your device and activities. This includes technical data like your IP address, browser type, device type, pages or screens you viewed, clickstream data, and the dates/times of access.
We log actions you take on the platform (such as searches, listings created, bookings made) to maintain a record of activity, which helps us improve services and ensure security. Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies (small text files stored on your browser) and similar technologies to provide and enhance our services. For example, cookies help keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and gather aggregate analytics about usage of our site. We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking purposes.
The cookies we set are primarily for functionality and analytics (e.g., to understand which pages are popular or to detect and fix technical issues). You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our platform (for instance, you might not stay logged in or some features might not work properly). 2. How We Use Your Information We use the collected information for purposes consistent with operating an online land leasing and booking platform. These purposes include: To Provide and Operate the Service: We use your information to create and manage your account, enable you to list properties or book stays, and otherwise operate the core functionality of the platform (such as showing you relevant listings and handling bookings). To Process Reservations and Payments: We use personal and payment information to confirm your bookings, process payments through our payment partner (Stripe), and facilitate payouts to hosts . For example, when you book a campsite or parking spot, we use your provided details to reserve the spot and charge your payment method. To Verify Identity and Ensure Trust & Safety: Information like your identification data may be used to verify your identity or conduct necessary background or fraud checks, helping maintain a trusted community. We also use data to prevent fraud, detect security incidents, and enforce our terms of service (for example, using activity logs to investigate suspicious behavior) To Communicate with You: We use your contact information (email address and/or phone number) to send you confirmations, updates, and important notices about your account or transactions. For instance, we’ll email you booking confirmations, receipts, or alerts about changes/cancellations. We may also respond to your inquiries or support requests, and send you informational messages about new platform features or policy updates. To Improve and Analyze the Platform: We analyze usage data and user feedback to understand trends in user interest and to make improvements to our services.
This helps us optimize the user experience – for example, by figuring out which types of listings are most popular or identifying demand in certain areas so we can encourage more listings there. We may use aggregated, non-identifying information for internal analytics to guide business decisions and improve functionality. To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may use your information to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our platform.
For example, we retain certain transaction records for tax and accounting purposes, and we may use or disclose information as needed to respond to lawful requests by public authorities or to exercise or defend legal claims. We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Policy without your consent. If we plan to process your data for a new purpose, we will provide you with notice and/or obtain your consent as required by law. 3. Sharing with Third Parties We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We only share your information in the following limited situations, in order to run our platform and provide our services: Service Providers and Partners: We share information with trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. This includes companies like Stripe (our payment processor), which will receive your payment information to process transactions. It may also include cloud hosting providers, email delivery services, analytics providers, or identity verification services. These third parties are contractually required to use your information only as necessary to provide the requested services to us and are obligated to protect your data and keep it confidential. Between Users (Hosts and Renters): If you use our platform to book a property or list your land, we will share certain information between the parties to facilitate the transaction. For example, when a guest makes a booking, the host will receive the guest’s name and relevant contact information to coordinate the stay, and the guest will receive details about the host’s property (such as the address or special instructions). We only share the information that is necessary for the booking or required by both parties. Similarly, any reviews or communications you post publicly on the platform will be visible to others. Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required to comply with applicable laws or legal processes (for example, in response to a subpoena or court order), or to respond to valid requests by government or law enforcement. We may also share information when necessary to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our users, or the public. This could include sharing information with authorities or other companies for purposes of fraud prevention and credit risk reduction. Business Transfers: If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of all or part of our assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor or acquiring entity as part of that transaction. In such cases, your information will remain subject to the protections of this Privacy Policy (unless you’re notified otherwise and consent to a new policy). Aggregated or De-Identified Data: We may share information that has been aggregated or anonymized in such a way that it no longer identifies you personally. For example, we might publish reports or share statistics with business partners that show overall usage trends (e.g. average number of bookings in a month or popular regions for camping) without revealing any individual user’s identity. The sharing of such non-personal data is not subject to the restrictions of this Privacy Policy. Aside from the above situations, we will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent. In particular, we do not give your personal data to third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
- Your Choices, User Accounts, and Data Retention Account Access and Updates: You can access and update certain personal information by logging into your user account. Within your account settings, you may correct your profile information, update contact details, or change your preferences. It’s important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current, so please keep your information up to date. If you need assistance accessing or updating your info, you can also contact us using the information in the Contact section below. Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account or request that we delete personal information we have collected from you. If you wish to close your account, you may do so through the account settings if that option is available, or by contacting our support team. When your account is deleted, we will remove or anonymize your personal information so that it no longer identifies you, and your profile will no longer be visible to others. However, please note that we retain certain information as needed for legal compliance or legitimate business purposes.
. For example, we may keep records of transactions you made on the platform (without retaining sensitive personal details) to satisfy accounting, audit, and tax obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. We may also retain backup copies of your data for a limited period of time in our archives, until those backups cycle out of our system. Data Retention: We only keep your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
In practice, this means we retain your information while your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you deactivate your account or it becomes inactive, we may archive your information and eventually delete it in accordance with our standard data retention schedules. Any data that we are required to keep by law (for example, certain financial records) will be kept for the legally mandated period. When we no longer have a legitimate need to retain your information, we will securely delete or anonymize it. Your Controls and Settings: You may opt out of receiving certain communications from us. For example, you can unsubscribe from marketing or promotional emails using the “unsubscribe” link in those emails. (Note that even if you opt out of marketing messages, we will still send you transactional communications, such as booking confirmations or account notifications, when those are necessary to provide our service.) Most web browsers also allow you to control cookies through their settings. For instance, you can instruct your browser to stop accepting new cookies, to notify you when you receive a new cookie, or to disable cookies altogether. Please be aware that disabling or rejecting cookies may affect your user experience on our site (see “Cookies” section above). We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, and aside from the preferences described in this Policy, we do not offer separate opt-out mechanisms for those signals. 5. Data Location and Legal Compliance Our platform and its infrastructure are based in the United States, and all data we collect is processed and stored on servers located in the U.S. (or in other jurisdictions with similar legal protections). If you are using our services from outside the United States, be aware that your personal information will be transferred to and maintained on servers or databases in the U.S. (or other jurisdictions where our service providers may operate).
By using the platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. The data protection and privacy laws in the U.S. may not be as comprehensive or protective as those in your home country, but please rest assured that we will handle your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. As a U.S.-based service, we adhere to applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws. This Privacy Policy is intended to meet requirements of laws such as the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and other relevant statutes. For example, we will notify you if we change our data practices in a way that affects your rights, as required by law. Because we do not sell personal data and only use your information to provide requested services, certain consumer privacy laws (like the California Consumer Privacy Act’s provisions on data sale opt-out) may not be applicable.
If you are a resident of a state that grants you specific privacy rights (such as the right to access or delete personal data under California law), we will provide those rights to you upon verifiable request, to the extent those laws apply. We also comply with U.S. laws regarding minors’ privacy (as described below) and other relevant regulations. In the event we receive a lawful request for user data from law enforcement or a court (such as a subpoena or warrant), we will review it carefully and only disclose information if required by law. We also reserve the right to assert or waive legal objections or rights as appropriate. Our goal is to be transparent and lawful in all data handling and disclosures. 6. Data Security We take the security of your personal information very seriously and implement reasonable security measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction of data. These measures include technical, administrative, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. For example, we use encryption to protect data transmissions (TLS for data in transit), employ firewalls and access controls to secure our servers, and restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job duties. However, please note that no method of transmitting information over the internet or storing data is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
You should understand that any information you share with us is provided at your own risk. In the unlikely event of a data breach or security incident, we will notify affected users and take steps in accordance with applicable data breach notification laws. User Responsibility: We also encourage you to take steps to safeguard your own information. Choose a strong, unique password for your account and keep it confidential. Consider changing your password periodically. Do not share your login credentials or account access with others. If you suspect that your account or information has been compromised (for example, if you notice unauthorized activity on your account), please contact us immediately so we can assist. 7. Children’s Privacy Not for Minors Under 18: Our platform and services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children or teenagers under 18 years old. By using our services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please do not use the platform or provide any personal information to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete such information and terminate the minor’s account in accordance with applicable laws like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
For example, if a user is discovered to be underage, we will close the account and remove any personal data to the extent required by COPPA and other laws. We may retain a record of the deletion or certain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations or to prevent fraud, but we will not use the information for any other purpose. Parents or guardians who believe that we might have any unauthorized information about a child under 18 should contact us, and we will promptly investigate and address the issue. 8. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy and post the revised policy on our website.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our data practices. If we make any material changes that significantly affect your rights or how we use your information, we will provide you with additional notice as appropriate. This may include posting a prominent notice on our site or notifying you via email (if we have your email contact) prior to the changes taking effect.
By continuing to use the platform after any changes to this Privacy Policy become effective, you are deemed to have accepted the updated terms.
